C TRAN Proposes Service and Fare Modifications Due to Medicaid Funding Loss.
At the August 4th Multi-Services Committee meeting of the Chemung County Legislature, Transit Specialist Tina Hager outlined a proposal of service changes and a fare increase for the C TRAN system. Due to a significant loss of Medicaid funding from the State Department of Health since October 2013, operator First transit submitted the proposal to the County in order to maintain the highest level of transit service that is feasible. A public hearing on the proposed changes will be on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 6:45PM at the Legislative meeting. After the hearing, if the changes are approved by the Legislature, the public will be notified. The changes are proposed to begin November 17, 2014.
